We operate the LoveConnet mobile application (available on iOS and Android), the website at loveconnet.com, and all related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register for an account, complete your profile, or interact with our Services, you voluntarily provide us with certain personal information. This includes:

  • Account Registration Data: Your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and chosen password or authentication method. This information is required to create and secure your account.
  • Profile Information: Profile photographs, biography text, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship preferences, interests and hobbies, education, occupation, and any other details you choose to add to your dating profile. This information is displayed to other users to facilitate connections.
  • Communication Content: The content of messages, voice notes, images, and videos you send and receive through our in-app messaging system. Video and voice call metadata (duration, timestamps) is also recorded, though call content is end-to-end encrypted.
  • Identity Verification Data: If you choose to verify your profile, we collect selfie photographs and may request government-issued identification documents. These are processed to confirm your identity and are deleted after verification is complete.
  • Payment Information: When you subscribe to LoveConnet Premium or purchase in-app features, payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store. We receive transaction confirmations and subscription status but never receive or store your full credit card number, bank account details, or other financial instrument data.
  • Support Communications: When you contact our customer support team, we retain your inquiries, feedback, and any attachments to resolve your issue and improve our services.
  • Survey Responses: If you participate in optional surveys, contests, or promotions, we collect the responses and any associated information you provide.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information through various technologies. This data helps us maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve your experience:

  • Precise Location Data: With your explicit permission (which you can revoke at any time through your device settings), we collect precise GPS coordinates to show you potential matches in your geographic area. You can adjust the precision of location sharing or disable it entirely, though this will limit the distance-based matching functionality.
  • Device Information: We collect your device model, manufacturer, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (including advertising IDs), screen resolution, available storage, battery level, and mobile carrier information. This helps us optimize the app for your specific device.
  • App Usage Analytics: We record which features you use, how often you open the app, session duration, pages viewed, search queries, swipe patterns, the profiles you interact with, and the times and dates of your activities. This information is used in aggregate to improve our matching algorithms and user experience.
  • Network Information: We collect your IP address, connection type (WiFi, cellular, 5G), Internet service provider, and network quality metrics. This helps us optimize media delivery and diagnose connectivity issues during calls.
  • Push Notification Tokens: We register your device with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android and Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) for iOS. The unique device tokens generated are stored securely to deliver timely notifications about matches, messages, and incoming calls.
  • Crash and Performance Data: We automatically collect crash reports, error logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic data to identify and fix technical issues. This data is anonymized and does not contain personal content.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Sources

  • Social Login Providers: If you choose to sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from those services. We do not access your contacts, posts, or other social media content unless you explicitly grant permission.
  • Firebase Authentication: When you verify your phone number via SMS, Firebase processes the verification code. We receive confirmation of successful verification but do not store the SMS verification codes themselves.
  • Fraud Prevention Partners: We may receive signals from anti-fraud services to help detect and prevent fake accounts, automated bots, and abusive behavior on our platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal information only for legitimate purposes directly related to providing and improving our Services. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Provide Core Services: Create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, display your profile to other users, and facilitate the matching and communication features that are central to LoveConnet.
  • Personalize Your Experience: Use your preferences, behavior patterns, and location to recommend compatible matches, curate your discovery feed, and tailor the content and features most relevant to you.
  • Enable Communications: Deliver messages, facilitate real-time voice and video calls between matched users, and send push notifications about new matches, unread messages, and incoming calls.
  • Ensure Safety and Moderation: Review profile photos and content using automated systems (including AI-based moderation) and human reviewers to detect and remove inappropriate, explicit, or fraudulent content. Investigate reports of harassment, abuse, or policy violations.
  • Prevent Fraud and Abuse: Detect fake accounts, automated bots, scammers, and other malicious activity. Enforce age restrictions and verify that users meet our minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • Improve Our Services: Analyze usage patterns, conduct A/B testing, develop new features, optimize existing functionality, fix bugs, and improve overall app performance and reliability.
  • Communicate With You: Send service-related announcements, security alerts, policy updates, and optional marketing communications (which you can opt out of at any time).
  • Provide Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and process requests related to your account or data.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and government requests. Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights, safety, and property of LoveConnet, our users, and the public.

We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds, as applicable under GDPR and similar data protection regulations:

  • Contractual Necessity: Processing necessary to fulfill our agreement with you — providing the dating platform, matching services, messaging, and calling features you signed up for.
  • Consent: For specific processing activities such as precise location tracking, optional marketing emails, and photo verification. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interests: For purposes like fraud prevention, security monitoring, product improvement, and analytics — where our interests do not override your fundamental rights.
  • Legal Obligation: When we are legally required to process or retain certain data, such as for tax purposes, law enforcement requests, or regulatory compliance.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

LoveConnet has never sold, and will never sell, your personal data to third parties for advertising or any other purpose. Your trust is the foundation of our business.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Other LoveConnet Users: Your profile information (photos, name, age, bio, and preferences) is visible to other users on the platform — this is essential for the dating service to function. Messages are only visible to the sender and recipient. We never display your email, phone number, or exact location to other users.
  • Trusted Service Providers: We work with carefully vetted third-party companies that provide infrastructure and services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, content delivery, email delivery, analytics, content moderation, and payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the specific services they provide to us and are required to maintain equivalent security measures.
  • Safety and Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes; (b) respond to valid legal requests from governmental authorities; (c) protect the safety of any person; (d) address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (e) protect the rights and property of LoveConnet.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, restructuring, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice within our app before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • Aggregated and Anonymized Data: We may share aggregated, de-identified data (such as "65% of our users are between 25–34 years old") with partners, advertisers, or the public. This data cannot be used to identify any individual user.
  • With Your Explicit Consent: We may share your information for purposes not described in this policy, but only with your express prior consent.

5. Data Storage & Security

Protecting your data is a top priority. We employ multiple layers of industry-standard security measures to safeguard your personal information:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3 (Transport Layer Security), the same standard used by banks and financial institutions.
  • Encryption at Rest: Sensitive personal data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 encryption. Database backups are also encrypted.
  • End-to-End Encryption for Calls: Voice and video calls between users are protected with end-to-end encryption (E2EE), meaning neither LoveConnet nor any third party can access the content of your calls. Only the participants hold the decryption keys.
  • Secure Token Storage: Authentication tokens on your device are stored using platform-native secure storage mechanisms (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain), which are hardware-backed on supported devices.
  • Access Controls: Employee access to user data is strictly limited on a need-to-know basis, protected by multi-factor authentication, and logged for audit purposes. Only authorized personnel can access personal data, and they are contractually bound to confidentiality obligations.
  • Security Audits: We conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and code reviews to identify and address vulnerabilities proactively.

No System is 100% Secure

While we implement robust security measures and continuously improve them, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely impervious. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use our Services at your own risk. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable biometric authentication where available.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

  • Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account remains active and you continue to use our Services.
  • Account Deletion: When you delete your account (available in-app under Settings → Account → Delete Account), we initiate permanent deletion of your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained for up to 90 days in encrypted backups before being purged.
  • Legal Retention: We may retain certain information beyond deletion if required by law (e.g., for tax records, fraud prevention, or ongoing legal proceedings). Such data is stored securely and accessed only for the specific legal purpose.
  • Anonymized Data: Aggregated, fully anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement purposes.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location and applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: Request a complete copy of the personal data we hold about you, including a summary of how it is being processed. We will provide this within 30 days of a verified request.
  • Right to Rectification: Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information at any time through your profile settings, or by contacting our support team for data not editable in-app.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data. You can initiate this directly within the app or by emailing us. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request an export of your personal data in a structured, commonly-used, machine-readable format (JSON) so you can transfer it to another service.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we temporarily limit how we process your data while you contest its accuracy or object to our processing.
  • Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling for direct marketing purposes.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke previously granted permissions (location, camera, microphone, notifications) at any time through your device's system settings. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

On our web platform at loveconnet.com, we use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function. These keep you logged in, remember your session, protect against CSRF attacks, and enable core security features. These cannot be disabled.
  • Functional Cookies: Remember your preferences such as language selection, theme (light/dark mode), and notification settings to enhance your experience.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with our website — which pages are most visited, how users navigate between pages, and where users encounter errors. This data is anonymized and aggregated.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may impair website functionality. Our mobile app does not use browser cookies but may use similar device-level identifiers for analytics purposes, which can be controlled through your device's advertising settings.

AI-powered content moderation that reviews uploaded profile photos to detect and prevent explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content.

In-app purchase processing, app distribution, crash reporting, and user review management.

DDoS protection, WAF (Web Application Firewall), CDN for static assets, and bot management for our web platform.

Sentry

Error tracking and performance monitoring to quickly identify and resolve technical issues affecting your experience.

10. Children's Privacy

Age Requirement: 18+

LoveConnet is a dating platform exclusively for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or retain personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

We implement age verification measures during registration to prevent minors from creating accounts. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a user under the age of 18, we will immediately suspend the account and permanently delete all associated data within 24 hours.

11. International Data Transfers

LoveConnet operates globally, and your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for transfers from the EEA.

12. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to keep you informed about activity on your account. These include:

  • Match Notifications: When you and another user mutually express interest, we notify both parties.
  • Message Notifications: Alerts for new messages from your matches.
  • Call Notifications: Incoming voice and video call alerts, which appear as full-screen notifications to ensure you never miss a call — even when your device is locked.
  • Safety Notifications: Important security alerts, such as login from a new device or suspicious account activity.
  • Promotional Notifications: Optional updates about new features, events, and offers. You can disable these at any time.

You can manage notification preferences within the app's settings or through your device's system notification settings. Disabling all notifications may cause you to miss important communications including incoming calls and security alerts.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes:

  • Material Changes: We will notify you via email and/or a prominent in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Material changes include modifications to the types of data we collect, how we use it, or the third parties we share it with.
  • Minor Changes: For non-material updates (such as clarifications or formatting changes), we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
